After eight blissful months of matrimonial harmony, MILEY CYRUS and LIAM HEMSWORTH have decided to call it quits.

Miley’s rep issued a statement saying, quote, “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time.  Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and [their] careers.

“They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart.  Please respect their process and privacy.”

Miley and Liam started dating after meeting on the set of the movie “The Last Song” in 2009.  They got married this past December.  Just last month, Miley took on breakup rumors in a post celebrating their 10th anniversary as a couple.

She Tweeted, quote, “Good to see everyone is as dumb as they were in 2009!  Some things never change . . . & I hope the way you feel about me is one of them.  You’re truly.”

But obviously the rumors were true, and Miley has already moved on.  She was spotted on a yacht in Italy making out with . . . A WOMAN.  Her name is Kaitlynn Carter, and she’s the ex of CAITLYN JENNER’s son Brody.  They broke up last week.

Brody is taking it in stride, though.  He joked that pictures of him and Liam Hemsworth “holding hands on the beach” are coming soon.
