Do Taylor Swift and Drake have a collaboration in the works?
Swift is interviewed in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. In the cover photo, she wears a denim jacket covered in pins with references to several artists including Selena Gomez, Troye Sivan, Dixie Chicks, and Drake. A photo of the rapper from his “Hotline Bling” video appears on a button, which sits alongside another pin that says “Track 5.”
Swift also praised Drake in the magazine. “I love his one-liners,” she said before quoting “Summer Games” and “Nonstop.” “Like ‘You say I led you on / But you followed me.’ Or ‘This a Rollie, not a stopwatch / It don’t ever stop.’”
On her jacket, there are also images of the cast of Friends and Game of Thrones, Mr. Rogers, singer Faith Hill, the words “Awesome” and “Calm,” Sandra Oh and Ellen Pompeo from Grey’s Anatomy, the musical Cats, and more.
Fans are now convinced that the buttons indicate that the album will include a collaboration with Drake, and the song may have something to do with Game of Thrones.
“Wanted to rep as many things/people I love on the jacket and more in the interview,” tweeted Swift.
In the story, Taylor says her upcoming album is more “vulnerable,” adding, “It’s much more of a singer-songwriter, personal journey than the last one.”
