The record for most weeks at No. 1 is currently 16 weeks. Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s song “One Sweet Day” and “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber are tied for that position. Lil Nas X now holds the record for the most weeks at No. 1 for a debut single after surpassing Los Del Rio’s “Macarena,” which spent 14 weeks at No. 1 in 1996. He also has spent more weeks at No. 1 than any other openly gay artist.
