According to TMZ, Rihanna has filed a lawsuit against her own father over the use of their surname. Interesting, it also happens to be his last name. Before you begin saying that he has a legal right because of it’s his last name, might want to continue to read why Ri-Ri has taken legal action.
In a new lawsuit, Rihanna claims her father recently started a talent development company in 2017 called Fenty Entertainment. Rihanna has already trademarked “Fenty” to use in a number of biz ventures, including her well-known Fenty Beauty line. She claims he’s profiting off the reputation she’s created with Fenty. In the suit, Rihanna claims her father and a business partner falsely advertised themselves as her reps to solicit millions of dollars.
The songstress has issued multiple cease and desist letters to her father, demanding that he stop capitalizing off of her Fenty trademarks. However, Papa Fenty has reportedly alleged to have ignored them and continued profiting off it through his Fenty Entertainment imprint.
